The anti-lock brakes system (ABS) on your car helps you slow down quickly and safely on slippery surfaces helping in the prevention of accidents. Most modern cars come with ABS as standard these days but its important to note that anti-lock brakes will not eliminate accidents but rather contribute to the overall safety of vehicles on slippery surfaces.
ABS Main Components:
Speed Sensors - Monitors wheel speed
Valves - Part of the brake line allowing the brakes to open, block and relase#
Pump - restores pressure after the valves have released it
Controller - Connected to the cars computer it monitors the speed sensors and tells the valves and pump whether to build or release pressure in the case of a slide
